The hide is the whole point
Oiled rather than coated, so a thumbnail mark rubs out with a finger. Six months in and the spine has darkened where I hold it.

Mechanism is stiff at first
Rings needed a firm push for the first week and then settled. Card slots take four cards without the front board bulging.

Refills are easy to find
Standard A5 two-hole, so any stationer's pad drops in. Turned it over in 3D on the page before ordering and the stud closure was obvious in a way the photos did not manage.
