The leather is the whole product
Thick enough that the flap holds its own shape from day one and heavy enough that you notice it on a shoulder. Six months in the grain has gone from matte to a low shine along the edges where my arm sits.

Buckles are slow, and that is the point
You cannot get into this bag in a hurry, which took a week to get used to and then stopped mattering. The brass has dulled to a warm gold. Laptop divider actually keeps a 14-inch machine off the base.

Heavy before you put anything in it
1.4 kg empty is a lot if you already carry a laptop and a lunch. Everything about the construction is right; just go in knowing what full-grain at this thickness weighs.

Rain rolled straight off
Caught twenty minutes of proper rain and the water beaded on the flap rather than soaking in. Dried without a mark and without going stiff.
