The canvas is the real thing
Heavy enough that it stands up on its own when empty, which is the tell for a proper weave. Six months of daily use and the olive has gone slightly paler at the corners, which I wanted.

Comfortable, but break the leather in
Straps were stiff for the first fortnight and then softened into shape. The brass has gone from bright to dull gold. Only gripe is that the drawstring throat is slow when your hands are full.

Turned it around before I ordered
I spun it on the product page to check how the flap sits over the front pocket, which is exactly the thing a photograph never answers. It sits flat, and the buckle clears the pocket.

Good bag, no external bottle pocket
Well made and the leather is genuinely thick. It loses a star from me for having nowhere to put a bottle outside the main compartment.
