Holds a flame in real wind
Sat outside a tarp in a steady blow and it never guttered. The cage lifts one-handed, which matters when the other hand has the matches.

Unlacquered brass was the right call
It has gone from bright to a dull gold in four months of use and looks better for it. A lacquered one would be peeling by now.

Fount is smaller than it looks
Fourteen hours is honest but that is two long evenings, not a week. Turning it on the page showed me how the filler cap sits, which decided the purchase.
