Warmer than they look
The lining makes the difference — I wore these through a wet February with one pair of wool socks and never had cold feet. They also pull off standing up, which my last pair never did.

Size up if you wear thick socks
True to length but narrow across the instep. My usual 44 was tight over walking socks and the 45 is right. Rubber is properly thick, no flex creases yet after a season on the allotment.
